Field personnel should adhere to the safe work practices outlined in the
General Work Practices section and the three guidelines listed below:
- Do not enter areas of radioactive material use, unless
accompanied by a site representative. Ensure that all criteria for entry into such
laboratories have been met (e.g., use of a thermo-luminescent dosimeter (TLD) and personal
protective equipment)
- Dispose of all contaminated waste in the appropriate
radioactive waste can
- Immediately report all wounds, spills, or emergencies to the
site radiation safety officer, and follow the proper emergency procedures.
