A radiation safety manual should contain but not be limited to the following:
- Applicable provisions of the regulations and the license
issued by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
- Health effects associated with exposure to radioactive
materials
- Equipment and procedures used to minimize radiation exposure
in individual work areas
- Site-specific emergency response procedures related to
radioactive materials
- A statement of employee's responsibility to report unsafe
working conditions
- Procedure for providing personal monitoring of employees
potentially exposed to radiation
- Procedures to request reports on individual radiation
exposure.
