Department of the Army Personnel Rights

AR 385-10 describes safety program rights for Department of the Army military and civilian personnel as provided by the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Department of Defense (DD) Form 2272. DD Form 2272 should be posted in all DA workplaces to inform personnel of these rights.

DA personnel have the right to a safe and healthful work environment. Civilian employees may decline to perform an assigned task when there is a reasonable belief that the task poses an imminent risk of death or serious bodily harm in accordance with federal law. Military personnel are protected from unreasonable / unnecessary risk through their chain of command and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

All DA military and civilian employees have the right to access and review OSHA, DOD, and Army safety standards applicable to their job and assigned tasks.
