ARMY SAFETY PROGRAM

.

Department of the Army Personnel Rights

Personnel may review the occupational injury and illness data, including numbers and types of accidents, but they may not have access to other employees’ specific medical records or data. In addition, they have the right to information about workplace hazards and hazard control procedures.

Personnel may comment on proposed Army safety standards, and have the right to report unsafe / unhealthful working conditions. They are encouraged to report hazards through their chain of command by filling out DA Form 4755, “Employee Report of Alleged Unsafe/Unhealthful Working Conditions,” and submitting it to the installation safety office.

They may also report hazards directly to an OSHA office, but are encouraged to report hazards at the installation to expedite action. Anonymity is assured if desired.

Personnel or their representatives may participate in safety program activities such as safety surveys and inspections, and safety council meetings.
