Equipment for General Use - Flexible Cords and Cables |

Flexible cords shall only be used in continuous lengths without splices or
taps. Hard service flexible cords, No. 12 or larger, may be repaired if the splice retains
the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord. Flexible cords shall be connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief is provided to prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws. |
