Each service outlet on portable outlet headers shall be provided with a valve
assembly that includes a detachable outlet seal cap (shown in yellow), chained or
otherwise attached to the body of the valve. The primary reasons for using a seal cap are to protect the outlet pipe thread from damage and to prevent the deposit of oil or grease on the threads. Many times the caps are not used. Failure to use the seal cap can result in damage to threads and ground seals. This can cause leaky connections! |
