29 CFR 1910.147 Provisions - Energy Isolating Devices |
|||
The employer's primary tool for providing protection under the lockout/tagout
standard is the energy-isolating device. The energy-isolating device is the mechanism that
prevents the transmission or release of energy. All locks or tags are attached to this
device. There are two types of energy-isolating devices: those capable of being locked and those that are not. 29 CFR 1910.147 differentiates between these two conditions and the employer and employee responsibilities in each condition. |
