Types of Slings - Wire Rope Slings |

Wire rope slings shall not be used with loads in excess of the rated
capacities shown in Tables N-184-3 through N-184-14 of 29 CFR 1910.184. Slings not
included in these tables shall be used only in accordance with the manufacturer's
recommendations. Fiber core wire rope slings of all grades shall be permanently removed from service if they are exposed to temperatures in excess of 200ºF. When non-fiber core wire rope slings of any grade are used at temperatures above 400ºF, or below minus 60ºF, recommendations of the sling manufacturer regarding use at that temperature shall be followed.
