Getting Started:

Welcome to the online Laboratory Waste Management Training Manual,  composed of five sections.   This Manual is designed to provide quickly and easily access to information.  To learn how to use this manual,  read the following information, which contains some navigational points that will help you use the manual.  (You can return to this section at any time from the Main Menu by using the "Users Guide" hyperlink.) 

This manual was designed to be viewed with Netscape Navigator 3.01 or higher (or an equivalent browser) with a 14/15 inch monitor set to 640x480 resolution and 256 colors.  If you have a larger monitor, you may want to view it at 800x600 (or higher) resolution. 

This manual is running a separate, customized instance of your browser.  When you exit this manual, this instance will close and you will return to your original browser.

Navigation in Laboratory Waste Management

You will start at the Main Menu,  which allows you to access any of the section menus by one of the following methods:

• Click the hyper linked section "buttons" at the left of the page.
• Click the section name or title "hyperlink" on the main part of the page.

Section Navigation

From the Section Menu's you can use the EPA logo to return to the main menu. The Section Menu's are available at all times while in the manual, just press the Section Button at the top of the screen to go to a section.

To access material in the manual, click on the appropriate menu item on the section menu. The material will replace the current page on your screen. You can move through the text by using the "Scrollbars" which appears on the right side and bottom of the frame as needed.

Hyperlinks

Items in blue text are "Hyperlinks" to specific topics in the text. Click on these hyperlinks to go directly to the topics.  Pages that contain more text than will fit on one screen will have "Return to Top of Page" hyperlinks to take you back to the top of the current page.  When you have finished with the topic, Click the "Back" button (found at the bottom of each page) to return to the page you came from.

The text of this manual contains blue hyperlinks to referenced laws and regulations which provide additional information about the topic addressed in the text. Click the hyperlink to view the referenced document, which will be shown in a pop-up window. To review the material scroll through it using the scroll bar and arrows (see illustration below).   When you have finished reviewing the material you can close the window in on of two ways, by clicking on the "Close" buttons at the top and bottom of the page or by clicking on the "X" button in the upper right hand corner of the window.

Hyperlink Information:

The hyperlink color used in this manual are:

Blue: hyperlinks (not visited)
Purple: visited hyperlinks
Red: active hyperlinks (when clicked)

Printing References

All the references are shown in popup windows which allow you to print the document in that window.  To print the document, put your cursor over the "File" on the menu bar at the top of the window.  Move the cursor down until the "Print" selection is highlighted (like figure below). Click once and the print dialog box will open.  Indicate the pages you wish to print or choose to print the whole document.  When you are satisfied with your choices, click the "Ok" button to start printing.
