Chemical Label - Hazard Information

Each container of hazardous brought into the workplace or leaving the workplace must be labeled, tagged, or marked with the following information:
  • Identity of the hazardous chemicals(s)
  • Appropriate hazard warnings
  • Name and address of the chemical manufacturer, importer, or other responsible party.

Labeling must adhere to any regulations issued by DOT or OSHA.

Other types of warnings may be used as long as they convey the required information and identify the container(s) to which they are applicable. Some examples of other types or warning signs are:

  • Placards
  • Process sheets
  • Batch tickets
  • Operating procedures
  • Other written materials.
