- Take appropriate fire prevention and control measures
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment
- Utilize equipment and tools not affected by the chemical
being handled
- Ensure that a chemical is not mixed with other chemicals or
substances which may result in adverse reactions
- Use engineering controls
- Use good common sense.
