Compatibility | |||
If two or more hazardous materials remain in contact indefinitely
without reaction, they are compatible. Incompatibility, however, does not necessarily indicate a hazard. For example, dilute acids and bases can mix and neutralize each other to salts and water. On the other hand, a strong acid and base mix can be a hazard as it may react violently. |
