Mists

Mists are suspended liquid droplets generated by condensation of liquids from the vapor back to the liquid state or by breaking up a liquid into a dispersed state, such as by splashing or atomizing.

The term mist is applied to a finely divided liquid suspended in the atmosphere. Examples include:
  • Oil mist produced during cutting and grinding operations
  • Acid mist from electroplating
  • Acid or alkali mist from pickling operations
  • Spray mist from spray finishing operations.
