Electrical Safety Work Practices - Training

Employees shall be trained in safety-related work practices required by 1910.331-.355 that pertain to their respective job assignments. In addition, unqualified employees who are covered by the scope of this standard shall also be trained in any electrically related safety practices not specifically addressed by 1910.331 - .335, but which are necessary for their safety.

At a minimum, qualified persons shall be trained in and familiar with the:
  • Skills and techniques necessary to distinguish exposed live parts from other parts of electric equipment
  • Skills and techniques necessary to determine the nominal voltage of exposed live parts
  • Clearance distances specified in this standard and the corresponding voltages to which the qualified person will be exposed.
