| "Non-current-carrying metal parts of fixed equipment shall be grounded
by an equipment
grounding conductor which runs with or encloses the circuit conductors, if required.
One option for grounding is to contain the equipment grounding conductor known as a third
wire. For D-C circuits only, the equipment grounding conductor may be run separately from the circuit conductors.
