Reversed Polarity with Equipment Ground |

| It is extremely dangerous when the black (ungrounded) and green (equipment
grounding) conductors are reversed. The metal case of the equipment is at 120 volts
with reference to the surroundings. The equipment will not work with this wiring, however,
it is possible for a person to attempt to troubleshoot the problem before unplugging the
power cord. Physical contact with a conductive equipment surface will result in a serious,
or even deadly, shock.
