Like the valve outlet, the regulator must be carefully protected. Unless cylinders are secured on a special truck, regulators shall be removed and valve-protection caps, when provided for, shall be put in place before cylinders are moved. Cylinders not having fixed hand wheels shall have keys, handles, or non-adjustable wrenches on valve stems while these cylinders are in service. Unless connected to a manifold, always attach a regulator to the compressed gas cylinder before use. Make certain that the regulator is compatible for the particular gas and service pressure. Make sure the regulator is clean and has a clean filter installed in the inlet nipple. |
