General Requirements - Introduction

The General Requirements section, 1910.252 provides information about protecting individuals during welding, cutting, or brazing operations. This section contains the three topics listed on the left.

Protection of the individual includes measures taken to:

Prevent fires from occurring

Eliminate fires if they occur

Protect personnel by providing appropriate clothing and equipment

Protect personnel when welding or cutting containers

Protect personnel working in confined spaces.
