Selection of PPE is an important part of preventing injuries. Each eye, face,
or face-and-eye protector is designed for a particular hazard. The kind and degree of
hazard should be the key factors used to select the protector. If a choice of PPE is given
and degree of protection required is not an important issue, worker comfort may be a
deciding factor. Many types and styles of eye and face protective equipment have been developed to protect employees from hazards. Persons required to wear eye protection, including those who wear corrective spectacles, must wear one of the types listed below. Click on each term for more information.
