General Requirements |

Although employers are required to provide protective equipment to protect
against the level of the existing hazard, employees can choose to provide their own PPE.
When employees choose to provide their own equipment, the employer shall assure adequacy,
including proper maintenance and sanitation. All personal protective equipment, regardless of who provides it, must be of safe design and construction for the work to be performed. Any defective or damaged personal protective equipment shall not be used. |
