This Automatic Sprinkler Systems section is based on CFR 1910.159. It applies
to all automatic sprinkler systems installed to meet a particular OSHA
standard. Systems that are installed solely for property protection are not covered. An
automatic sprinkler system is a form of fixed fire suppression equipment. All automatic sprinkler designs must provide the necessary discharge patterns, densities, and water flow characteristics for complete coverage. Only approved equipment and devices shall be used. Regular maintenance and testing is required. |
