Threshold limit value-time-weighted average. The time-weighted average airborne concentration of a contaminant to which nearly all workers may be exposed, for a normal 8-hour workday and a 40-hour workweek without adverse effect. Defined by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).
