Non-Specific Sources: F020-028 Waste

The F020-F028 wastes result from the manufacture of chlorinated hydrocarbons (primarily pesticides).

F020-F028 are generically referred to as dioxin-contaminated wastes.

These listings are applicable only if the origin of a material meets the F020-F028 listing. For this reason, it is imperative that laboratory personnel ascertain the origin of all samples.

EPA hazardous waste numbers F020, F021, F022, F023, F026 and F027 are acutely hazardous wastes. As will be discussed later, acutely hazardous waste should be managed separately from hazardous wastes.
