Training Required - EPA (or State)

Regulatory Citation: LQG 40 CFR §265.16 and SQG 40 CFR §262.34(d)(5)(iii).

Applicability: Lab employees generating hazardous waste must receive training in hazardous waste management and emergency response as relevant to their duties. Although, both large and small quantity generators are subject to the personnel training requirements, large quantity generators are required to conduct more extensive training as defined under 40 CFR §265.16. Under the federal regulations conditionally exempt small quantity generators are not required to conduct personnel training, however, state agencies may have more stringent requirements.
