Where Do Discharge Limits Begin

National discharge limits apply to the point at which the wastewater from the entire facility enters the main sewer line (END OF PIPE). Although it is unlikely, your local ordinance may enforce discharge limits at a different point such as at the actual laboratory sink (END OF PROCESS). If the discharge limits apply where your facility's wastewaters enter the sewer main, then you can figure the dilution factor provided by the total facility discharge and calculate discharge limits that apply at the laboratory sinks.
