Aqueous Phase Extracts from PCB Analyses

There are some exceptions to the dilution provision discussed on the previous slide.

OTS has issued several policy Statements. Policy 6-PCB-2 states that aqueous phase extracts do not have to be considered PCB waste (i.e., the extraction process is not considered dilution). Therefore, when analyzing liquid PCB samples the aqueous phase waste from the methylene chloride extraction is not PCB waste.
